Drainage Problems Oak Hill
Call Us: 727-228-3350

#2 Oak Hill faced off against #14 Cape Henry in a Virginia duel that will go down in history as an instant classic. As the clear cut underdogs, Cape Henry came out with a chip on their shoulder. But when senior guard Marcus Evans (committed to Rice University) went out in the first quarter with a bruised thigh, Cape Henry had no choice but to lean on their sophomore backcourt duo, Iziah James and Malik Marrow. Meanwhile Oak Hill’s Dwayne Bacon (FSU Bound) and Josh Reaves (Penn Stat Bound) came out with guns blazing, draining just about everything they put up in the first half. Cape Henry still was able to control the game as Chris Clarke and company fought hard on every defensive possession while spreading it around offensively. Going into the half, Cape Henry led 40-37.

The two teams continued to go at it in the 3rd and 4th until the game came down to the wire. Oak Hill’s Terrence Phillips (Missouri bound) and Cape Henry’s Iziah James made big plays for their teams going down the stretch and sent the game into overtime tied 64-64.

As Cape Henry’s Malik Marrow and Iziah James did everything they could to keep their team in it, Oak Hill’s experience kept the game close until it Terrence Phillips drained a couple three’s to put Oak Hill ahead. Meanwhile Cape Henry missed a few crucial free throws down the stretch and Oak Hill capitalized as they pulled out a tough win, 81-76 in double overtime.

Dwayne Bacon was named MVP with 32 points on 11-25 shooting (3-8 from 3-point; 7-10 from the line) to go along with 9 rebounds and 3 assists.
