Cocoa Beach, Florida Project Prom Queen is the brain child of Robin Palmer. Three years ago Robin Palmer, Banquet Manager at Cocoa Beach, Hilton came up with the idea of the community coming together to provide prom and graduation dresses, accessories, as well as prom tickets to Brevard County high school girls in need. Throughout the year gowns, and fancy short dresses are collected by a variety of organizations. In late March, Hilton turns its ballroom into a prom shopping galleria. Girls are able to come in and shop for a prom dress, graduation dress, shoes, and all the accessories they may need for the occasions. Seamstress are on hand to make any necessary alterations to the dresses as well. Hair stylist and cosmetologist are available to apply make-up, and give the gals up-do’s etc. Girls can have their photos taken by a professional photographer, beverages and snacks are provided throughout the event, as well as a DJ playing teen favorites.The event is made possible through the following organizations and individuals: Realtor Association, Brevard’s Children in Need, Louise McClean,Brevard Schools Foundation, Merritt Square Mall, Hilton, Debra Green Hilton General Manager, Robin Palmer (brain child of Project Prom Queen), Dawn Kelly, Hilton HR Director, Blue Energy Committee, Beachside Hair Studio, Kathryn Martin, and Brianna Rogers.
